We Are Walking in Honor of Briella. Please Help Us Meet Our Goal.

ABOUT

I started this blog as a way to update my family when my pregnancy became complicated, without having to make a dozen phone calls after every doctors appointment. Little did I know the miracle that I was about to document.

Our second daughter, Briella graced this world at just 23 weeks gestation, when a baby is supposed to be born at 40 weeks.  My OB & the hospital I was on bed rest at believed that babies under 24 weeks were not viable. Their plan was if Briella was born before 24 weeks, they would put a little hat on her and place her in our arms to pass away, with pain medicine. As my body started giving up on being pregnant, I begged for anyone to attempt to save my baby if she was born. My OB arranged for me to transfer by ambulance out of state to a hospital that was equipped to handle 23 weekers. I arrived at the new hospital 4 days before Briella was born. She had a 120 day NICU stay. Briella had a level II brain bleed at birth. Her eyes were fused shut for weeks. Our little miracle micro preemie was born on Oct 4th, 2012 at 23 weeks and 5 days at 1 pound 6 ounces, 12 inches long when completely stretched out. She was 113 days, 16 weeks early.

Briella is doing so well. She has just began walking at 16 months old or 12 months adjusted (how old she would be if she was born on her due date.) We are so blessed to be Briella's parents. She has completed our family.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your prayers, inspiring words and messages during our most struggling times.  <3 Stacy
